The location of your Jerusalem hotel is vital.
There are several main hotel areas. The first is at the entrance to
the city, where hotels such as Ramada, Park Plaza, Crowne Plaza,
Jerusalem Gate and Moriah Gardens. This location is not recommended.
It's extremely far from the city center, and even further to the Old
City. Hotels in the central area are preferable, such as the Prima or
Dan hotels, Sheraton Plaza, Harmony, Jerusalem Tower, David Citadel
and King Solomon. The Inbal, Dan Boutique and Mount Zion are well
located for all destinations, including the Old train station area (
with several new restaurants ),
the buzzing Emek Refaim street and the wonderful Mamilla shopping
center ( next to Jaffa Gate ) . An additional group of excellent hotels in close to the Old
City but not to the new, such as The Olive Tree, Grand Court, Moriah
Classic and American Colony. In choosing between the various Jerusalem
hotels, don't forget that all distances are relative, and
a 10 minute bus ride will take into the Jerusalem city center from any
hotel in the city!
